Classic Chocolate Mug Cake
Makes: 1 serving | Time: 2 mins
Ingredients:
- Flour: 4 tbsp
- Sugar: 4 tbsp
- Cocoa powder: 2 tbsp
- Baking powder: 1/4 tsp
- Pinch of salt
- Milk: 3 tbsp
- Oil: 2 tbsp
- Vanilla: 1/4 tsp
- Optional: chocolate chips, nutella square in the middle
Steps:
1. Mix dry: In a large microwave-safe mug, stir flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
2. Add wet: Pour in milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth. No lumps. Add chocolate chips if you want.
3. Microwave: 90 seconds on high. It will rise then settle. Don't overcook or it gets dry.
4. Top it: Add ice cream, whipped cream, or more chocolate chips while it's warm.
Tips:
- Use a big mug — it puffs up
- For fudgy center, microwave 60-70 seconds instead
- No cocoa? Swap 2 tbsp cocoa + 2 tbsp flour for 6 tbsp flour + 1/2 tsp baking powder = vanilla mug cake
