Ingredients:

4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed

500 g fresh spinach (palak), washed and chopped

1 medium onion, finely sliced

2 medium tomatoes, chopped

2–3 green chilies, sliced

1 teaspoon ginger paste

1 teaspoon garlic paste

3 tablespoons cooking oil

1 teaspoon cumin seeds

1 teaspoon red chili powder

½ teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon coriander powder

½ teaspoon garam masala

Salt to taste

Fresh coriander for garnish


How to Make Restaurant style Aloo Palak at home

Heat oil in a large pan and add cumin seeds. Let them sizzle for a few seconds.

• Add sliced onions and sauté until lightly golden.

• Add ginger and garlic paste and cook for about 1 minute.

• Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and the oil begins to separate.

• Add potatoes, salt, red chili powder, turmeric and coriander powder. Mix well and cook for 5–7 minutes.

• Add chopped spinach and green chilies. Mix everything together.

• Cover and cook on medium-low heat for 10–15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the spinach is cooked. Stir occasionally.

• Sprinkle garam masala, mix well and cook for another 1–2 minutes.

• Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.


Serving Suggestions:

Serve hot Aloo Palak with fresh roti, chapati, naan or steamed rice. A spoonful of yogurt or raita on the side makes it even more delicious.

Use fresh, tender spinach for the best flavor.

Don't add too much water because spinach naturally releases moisture.

Cut potatoes into similar-sized pieces so they cook evenly.

Adjust green chilies and red chili powder according to your taste.
