Chana kofta recipe by the cozy plates
Here's a delicious recipe for Chanay (Chickpea) Kofta.
Ingredients:
1. Chickpeas (Chana): 1 cup, boiled
2. Onion*: 1 medium, finely chopped
3. Green chilies: 2-3, finely chopped
4. Coriander leaves:handful, chopped
5. Ginger-garlic paste: 2 tbsp
6. Cumin powder: 1 teaspoon
7. Tomato:1 (paste)
8. Garam masala: 1/2 teaspoon
9. Salt: to taste
10. Breadcrumbs: 2-3 tablespoons (for binding) optional
11. Egg: 1 (optional, for binding)
12. Oil: for frying
13: beef mince
Instructions:
1. *Mix ingredients*: Combine mince, onion, green chilies, coriander leaves, ginger-garlic , cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt.
2. *Shape koftas*: Make small balls or oval shapes.
3. *Coat with breadcrumbs*: (if using egg, dip koftas in beaten egg before coating with breadcrumbs).
4. Fry: heat oil in a pan and fry koftas until golden brown.
5. *Drain excess oil*: Place on paper towels.
Gravy:
Heat oil in pan,add onion,ginger garlic fry until translucent then make a paste of it.
Add oil in pan then add paste add salt turmeric,red pepper green chilies and tomato paste cook until oil separates then add boil chickpea and fry koftas( mince balls) add half glass water and cook until oil separates .
Serve:
Serve hot with rice or Nan.
Tips:
- You can bake the koftas instead of frying for a healthier option.
- Adjust spices according to your taste.
